Plant Controller in Hampton, VA

An international manufacturer is seeking a plant controller for its Hampton, VA facility. The plant controller will take charge of accounting and finance in a hands-on role in a sophisticated manufacturing environment. Responsibilities include general ledger month-end close with extensive monthly reporting requirements; cost, inventory, operational, and financial reporting, analysis, and forecasting; daily management activities with plant operations; daily reporting of metrics and financial analysis; and supervision of a small staff of analysts. The plant controller must have 8+ years of accounting and analysis experience with demonstrated career progression; a bachelors degree in accounting or finance with a masters degree highly preferred; CPA or CMA highly preferred; strong industry experience in a robust manufacturing environment including direct plant operation experience; advanced costing and inventory experience; direct experience leading the financial reporting for a large manufacturer; the ability to drive change at all levels in the organization; superior computer skills including Microsoft Excel and a large ERP with Hyperion and Oracle highly preferred; and exceptional communication and presentation ability.
